Maiden and Perston, Grenada North Park Saturday, 6 April 2019
Updated 28 Apr 2019.
A pretty cold day (12 degrees) with a brisk southerly blowing across the park. Luckily we avoided most of the day's showers!
The course was the same as last year - a 1.2km figure-of-eight circuit around each of the fields, with one lap (and a bit extra) for the 1.3km juniors race and two laps (and a bit extra) making up the 2.5km Maiden and Perston Memorial races.
Both of the long races were taken out by juniors - Oscar Crowe in the Maiden and Jack Julian in the Perston. Luke was followed by newcomers Luke and Mike, while Jack was followed closely by Gus, after a close race all the way. Jessica Hughes was first female - fifth overall.
Jenny Alderton-Moss won the Maiden handicap (1st female), and Alison Speakman the Perston handicap (1st female). Eion Davidson won the male handicap in the Maiden and Rob McCrudden, club captain, won the male handicap in the Perston.
