Event results
After the race was washed out last week, many were surprised at the conditions this week: not only was it a calm and cloudless day, the course was dry and firm underfoot. Of course with 8 stream crossings per lap the stream banks started getting very slippery, but the infamous bog didn't claim anyone this year. Unfortunately with the postponement, Hutt Valley Harriers were no longer able to join us.
Annabelle Tuck was the first across the line in the 9 and unders' race. Thomas White was the winner of the 13 and unders.
In the open handicap, Jess Jenkins was first across the line. Within another 3 minutes, two thirds of the field had finished, showing most people ran close to their handicaps.
Looking at the scratch times (the time taken from when the individual runners started), Mat Walker was the fastest junior man, Bex Jenkins the fastest junior woman, Katie Jenkins the fastest of the senior/masters women, and Martin McCrudden the fastest of the senior/masters men.
