The Grand Memorial doubles as our Old Members Day and, this year, we also had Trentham Harriers as our invited guests.



This year we had to change the course slightly: up-valley from the entrance gate was out of bounds due to wind farm terraforming and construction, so we had an extra loop at the bottom of the course.



The weather was cool and sunny, with a gentle northerly. Underfoot, there were plenty of puddles and mud due to a fair amount of rain in the two weeks before the rain - though the stream crossings weren't especially high.



We had a turnout of 110; nearly half were our Trentham guests. We had 18 in our under 12s' scratch race, 25 in our under 14s' scratch race, and 67 in the combined open handicap race.



In the under 12s' race, Bex Jenkins (O) was first across the line, ahead of Findlay Benge (T). In the under 14s, Will Adams (T) won, with Harrison Watt (T) second.



In the handicap race, Juan McDonald (O) was the winner, 22 seconds ahead of previous winner Brian Rusbridge (O). Mike Binkhorst (O) was more than two minutes back in 3rd.



Kevin Pugh (O) was winner of the coveted Dad Philp Pewter Pot for the fastest time in the men's race - a new name on the trophy. Katie Jenkins (O) was our fastest woman. McKenzie Jacques (T) was the fastest JW and Michael du Toit (T) the fastest JM.



Races: Race 1 - 1km scratch race; race 2 - 2km scratch race; race 3 - open handicap with either 4km or 8km (as noted).



The scratch place for the handicap race is ranked by grade.
