Event results
We returned to Bryant's Farm for the club champs. Unlike the Grand Memorial, our club captains have come up with a fast course with few stream crossings and obstacles; even the hill was mostly a gentle climb. Combined with fine weather and firm underfoot conditions, the race was a great event.
There were six distances:
- Race 1: Boys and girls, U14 U12: 2km (2×1km laps)
- Race 2: Boys and girls, U20, U18 and U16: 3.6km (2×1.8km laps)
- Race 3: Boys and girls, U8: 0.5km
- Race 4: Boys and girls U10: 1km
- Race 5: Senior women, Masters men and women (M35, W35, M50, W50, M60, W60): 5.5km (3×1.8km laps)
- Race 6: Senior men: 7.2km (4×1.8km laps)
As usual, this is a sealed handicap race where the winner of the handicap prize is the runner who beats their (secret) handicap time by the biggest margin. Except that the race winner is not allowed to be the handicap winner - if that happens, the award will go to the second placegetter.
Special mention must be made of Luke, who was unlucky enough to finish third out of two senior men.
