The Vosseler — commonly regarded as the country's toughest cross country race — is primarily a team race, with medals awarded for the winning club in each grade and for the overall club (based on the places of all finishers). For this reason for the individuals, only grade winners receive medals.
This year the event attracted more than 400 runners (more than one hundred up on last year — perhaps because of the weather?), and despite rain falling nearly all week, the course was in good shape and was fast. This year there was also a slight change in the course, with the top stretch of down-hill road being replaced with single-track on the town side of the road (so for those who want to compare times with other years it adds 100m-150m to a lap!)
