A small elite field of hardy runners turned up today to race in appalling conditions -- gale force northerly and showers. Actually, the weather wasn't as bad as earlier in the day; the wind had dropped so that it was merely typical for a Wellington spring day.
This year we had eight teams of four runners each: one doing three laps of the course (5km), two doing two laps (3.4km), and one doing one short lap (1.1km).
Graeme's team took home the Philp Shield this year after a tactical lap selection, finishing up with two first places and a second.
Scoring note: Tim's and Aaron's teams scored the same number of points, but Tim's team finished ahead on countback to the last placed finisher.
Well done to all those who ran, and we'll see you in two weeks for one of our favourite club races -- the Perston Baton Relay at Karori Park.
