Harriers National event

There was a last minute change this year from the Takahe to Akaroa course to a new course based on forestry roads at Bottle Lake.

The long course was based on a mostly flat 8km circuit (8x8km); the short course was a mix of the 8km circuit (laps 3 and 4)and a 5km circuit (laps 1,2, 5 and 6).

Olympic sent three teams: two mixed teams competing in the SM C grade, and a junior women's team.

Our junior women defended their title from the 2020 event, leading in nine teams (the event was cancelled in 2021). They trailed Auckland City Athletic over the first two laps before Ava took the lead in lap 3. They maintained a solid lead over the rest of the race and won with a margin of nearly two minutes.
