Twilight 5k Series - Race 1, Queens Wharf Tuesday, 17 November 2009

Tonight was the first of our Olympic Twilight 5k series, run in conjunction with the Brooks Waterfront 5k events. It was great to see 117 of you out walking and running to make up what is proving to be the largest set of 5km fields I have seen at Queens wharf over recent years.

Rather windy conditions prevented many (but not all) from recording season personal best times for these races but that's not to say that some great times were not being posted. First male walker home was Tim Dutton in 29 mins flat with Francis Le Fort being first female walker in with 33:40. Brian Garmonsway ran a 16:20 for a comfortable 1st place and Kate McIlroy was the first female runner, recording an impressive 16:57.

Congratulations to the spot prize winners and we look forward to seeing you all again when we will host the 2nd event in a fortnight.
