Tuesday, 17 Dec 2013, 17:00 to 18:15: AMI Kids Waterfront Fun Run , Queen's Wharf
AMI and Sport Wellington are partners in the hugely successful Round the Bays event that is held in February each year. They’re very pleased to now partner with Athletics Wellington to offer a fun run event especially for kids.
There are three options for the AMI Kids Waterfront Fun Run. Each event is $5 to enter and you can easily do this by going to www.athleticshub.co.nz and clicking on Book Now. Choose any of the following:
  • 5.00pm: 1km for year 0 to 3 school students (approx 5 year olds to 7/8 year olds)
  • 5.15pm: 2km for year 4 to 8 school students (approx 8 year olds to 12/13 year olds)
  • 5.30pm: 5km Fun Run for any ages from primary, intermediate and college age.

The 5km run will be timed and have placings recorded. All children who pre register will receive their own personalised race bib and everyone will receive an AMI Kids Waterfront Fun Run Certficiate. This will be personalised if you pre register as well.

PARENTS/SUPPORTERS - you are more than welcome to run alongside your child although you may be surprised how fast they go! This includes all races. Might be a good chance to get on those running shoes prior to the event.

The 1km and 2km events will start and finish at Frank Kitts Park – near the playground. Race bib pick up will be from the Chicago Bar on Queens Wharf.
The 5km timed Fun Run will start on Queens Wharf (near Chicago) where they’ll run 2.5km along the waterfront towards Oriental Bay, a little bit past the Band Rotunda and back (the same course as the Lifestyle Sports Waterfront 5km series).

There are also offers from AMI including the opportunity to collect an event medal from their offices throughout the months of December and January. Plus spot prizes from Sport Wellington and AMI on the day.

Book Now to make the most of all these offers. Hope to see you there on the 17th of December.

Updated 17 Dec 2013.
This meeting is open to registered and non-registered runners and throwers.

Enter on line as for the normal Black and Gold Programmes at Athletics Wellington and that will take you to the entries page. Find the date and event and enter your events. If you are not a member of a club and or registered you will need to fill in a form on the day of the meeting and be entered in the results database to get a number before you can enter any event. Do this at least one hour before the scheduled time of your first event. Club athletes who have NOT competed on the track this summer also need to complete the registration system with their club.

Please note the entry closing time is 60 minutes before the scheduled start time for each event. WARNING! Do not turn up at that time and expect to get your entry accepted! The queue might be so big that you will miss out!

The entry fee to take part in this meeting is a $5 DONATION paid on the day for an individual OR $10 for all members of a family. Athletes must pay the donation at the registration desk to get their competition number on their hand.

The club bulk funding for entry fees does NOT apply to-night. No number on your hand means no start, and of course no result!
