This week the pack run/walk is from the Speakman house - 120 Tirohanga Road, Tirohanga, Lower Hutt.
This week it's a pack run/walk from home - the Olympic clubrooms in Bannister Ave. 1:45 for a 2pm start.
This week's run/walk is from Sheryne & Miles house - 3 Marua Way, Ranui Heights.
Run Colonial Knob, followed by BBQ at Sheryne & Miles

Somes Island is pretty small, but there are plenty of tracks to explore. The main circuit around the island is 2.2km, and there are tracks across the centre of the island as well.
Go for a run, bring a picnic, and explore the old anti-aircraft gun batteries, lighthouse, quarantine station, and grave sites. We can leave our bags in a shed in the centre of the island, but you should take all valuables with you.
Biosecurity:
Make sure you scrub any dirt / seeds from your shoes before you go - when we arrive at the island one of the rangers will greet us and check our shoes / bags.
Getting there and back:
East by West Ferries depart from Queens Wharf in town (NOTE: They do not sail from Petone any more). They recommend getting there 30 mins before the sailing to make sure you get a ticket. The ferries have a cafe/bar if you need to rehydrate after your run. I have checked through the ferry timetable, and found two return sailing options depending on how long you want to stay and explore.
The plan:
11:30 Meet at the Queens Wharf ferry office (between Wagamama and Portofino) and buy tickets. Maybe go for a coffee at Mojo.
12:00 Ferry departs Queens Wharf
12:25 Ferry arrives Somes Island
Run!
3:20 Return ferry depart Somes Island (arrives Queens Wharf 3:45)
4:40 Last return ferry that departs Somes Island (arrives Queens Wharf at 5:05) if people want to stay later
Fares (Some Island return):
Adult: $25
Concession / Child (5 -15): $13
Family (2 adults and 4 children): $68
Supergold card holders travel free (still need to collect a ticket at the office)
