Saturday, 3 Dec 2011: The Goat Alpine Adventure Run, Mount Ruapehu
The Goat is an exhilarating adventure run from Whakapapa to Turoa Ski Fields on the Round the Mountain track, traversing the western slopes of Mount Ruapehu. A 21 kilometre course with over 1000 metres of vertical ascent.

Walkway crosses the motorway and follows the path towards the Aotea Block and
return.

Saturday, 17 Dec 2011, 17:00 to 20:00: Scottish Night of Miles [athletics] - UPDATED PROGRAMME, Newtown Park
Venue: Newtown Park
Times: 5pm start Now starts at 3pm with younger junior mile races

In support of the Mary Potter Hospice.

There are events for children, juniors, and men and women of all ages and abilities.
If you are a club or non-club runner and you want to know how fast you can do the mile then this is your big chance. The Scottish All Comers Mile is for you and for Father Christmas! For the faster runners make sure you register early for the other mile races to allow us to seed the events properly.

Junior athletes going to the Colgate Games compete here in a different atmosphere from the normal inter-club meetings. There is an 800m race walk for children.

The Spiral Race is the last event on the programme. This is a timed handicap, with the slowest starting first in lane 8 and moving inwards each lap. A recent 5km or 3 km time is needed from you for handicapping. Anyone who runs more than 10% faster than their estimate will be ineligible for prizes, Give your estimated time to the handicapper by 6.50 pm at the latest for this.

Please note the entry closing times to enter is 40 minutes before the scheduled start time for each event. WARNING! Do not turn up at that time and exepect to get your entry accepted! The queue might be so big that you will miss out!

The entry fee for one or as many events as you wish is $10. Note, the club bulk funding arrangement does NOT operate to-night.

It is just $10 for a family entry fee for the whole family for all events. Your entry fee is to be donated to the Mary Potter Hospice. We invite spectators place a donation in the
HONESTY box at the shop in the Function room.

HOW TO ENTER: Enter on the day the Function room and fill in the form for every event you want to enter and hand it in EARLY and pay at the Registration desk. Athletes will get a number written on their hands.

For children's races and throws and jumps enter NO later than 20 minutes before your first event and get your registration number put on your hand at the Children's registration table. The seeding for children is be done at the start line.

TRACK AND FIELD PROGRAMME

Please register for your event early and at least 40 minutes before the scheduled start time to record your entry for all events. Please report to the start of your event five minutes before the scheduled start time to check in.

3.00 pm 1 mile...Girls 10 and under; long jump - under 10 grades
3.15 pm 1 mile...Boys 10 and under
3.30 pm 1 mile...Girls 11 and under
3.45 pm 1 mile...Boys 11 and under
4.00 pm 1 mile...Girls 12 and under; long jump - under 12 grades
4.10 pm 1 mile...Boys 12 and under
4.20 pm 1 mile...Girls 13 and under
4.30 pm 1 mile...Boys 13 and Under

5.00 PM 200 metres, for all age groups.
5.00 PM 5.00 pm.High jump, for ages up to & including 16. Each competitor gets three jumps. You nominate on the day the heights you will attempt.
5.20 PM 800 metres for all age groups.
5.20 PM 5.20 pm Shot Put for ages up to & including 16. Each competitor gets three attempts only.
5.20 PM 5.20 pm Long jump, for ages up to & including 16. Each competitor gets three attempts only.
5.35 PM 60 metres for children’s age groups.
5.40 PM 5.40 pm High jump, for age groups 17 and over.
5.45 PM 400 metres for all age groups.
5.50 PM 5.50 pm Long jump, for age groups 17 and over. Each competitor gets three jumps only. If you are also competing in the 100 metres register here first.
5.55 PM 5.55 pm Shot Put, for age groups 17 and over. Three attempts only, then the top six get three more.
6.00 PM 100 metres for all age groups.
6.20 PM 800 metres Junior race walk for age groups B & G 10 to B & G14
6.30 PM The Scottish All Comers Mile. Enter this if you run slower than 4m 30 sec for 1500m. Santa will run in this race? Would you dare to beat him?
6.45 PM Junior Men’s Mile. Open to all junior B14, M16, M19 men.
6.55PM One Mile Walk. For all age groups, male or female. There is a sealed handicap [everyone starts together] held with this judged race.
Enter for the handicap by 6.20 .pm with your estimated time.
7.15 PM The Scottish Women's Mile. Open to all senior and junior women.
7.25 PM The Scottish Men's Mile. The Elite men's race.
This race is only for men who run faster than 4m 30sec for 1500m.
7.35 PM The Spiral Race. This is a time handicap. All runners start in lane 8. The slowest goes first and the faster runners follow. After each lap you move in one lane. Distance 3408 metres. Enter by 6.50 PM to the Handicapper with your best, and latest 3000m or 5 km times to get a handicap.

NOTE, the entry fee to take part in this meeting is $10 for an individual OR for a family. Athletes must pay the $10 at the registration desk to get their competition number on their hand. No number means no start, and of course no result!

Your entry fees will go to the Mary Potter Hospice in Newtown. Spectators please put donations in the HONESTY box at the shop in the Function room.
