There is a run for all at Holdsworth, beautiful bush, and river scenery. Martin McCrudden knows this area pretty well and has options that would suit most. The longer ones are a real challenge, hence the early start time.
- Holdsworth Jumbo is 24km of rugged terrain.
- Hooper loop is 12km and is not quite as demanding.
- Atiwhakatu trail is well graded, and undulates right the way along (no big climbs at all)
A word of caution. The long range forecast is looking a bit dodgy -- possibly a good thing as that far out it may well turn out to be the opposite! But you must be prepared with a backpack with sensible things in it. If it all does look too messy we can swap to a shorter local run and be home before the day has begun.
Meet at the clubrooms at 8:30 to carpool.
The Rimutuka rail trail is also on this weekend -- different side of the hill, more people, but same weather: www.trenthamunited.co.nz/rimutaka.html.
