The Alex Moore Park Board want to share progress and achievements to date with the clubs and all those with an interest within this community so that we can all see the benefits of what this project can bring. With that in mind the Alex Moore Park Board will be holding a public meeting early in the new year. Anyone with an interest in this project is welcome to attend so please ensure you put the details in your calendar now. There is also a just released report on the needs the community (a bit long but new and independent insights as to how the centre may meet those needs) available at http://www.alexmoorepark.org.nz/amp-needs-assessment.pdf.

Yes, Chris and Alison do have a bit of a climb up to their house but the plan is to explore the river trail this week. Mostly flat, so a chance to make an easy start to your training for the winter, work on your running form, or go a little further a little easier. BYO drinks and nibbles for afterwards.
Address:
120 Tirohanga Road
Lower Hutt
(Go about 100m past Melling Bridge, then left up the hill is Tirohanga Rd)

"RunFest is a weekend for trail runners, being held in Wellington on the 27-28 February. Put together by some local Wellington folks, it's two days of talks, practical sessions, information sharing, trail running films and geeking out with fellow runners.
"Speakers include Heather Anderson, current holder of FKTs for unsupported hikes on the Pacific Crest and Appalachian trails; Malcolm Law, who completed the High Five-0 challenge in 2015, climbing 50 peaks over 50 consecutive days; local running legend Roger Robinson; and trail running coaches, Mark Anderson and James Kuegler.
"This is something new for the trail running community and we're very excited to be putting it on. We'd love to see you there!"
