Established in 1991, the Crazyman is one of NZ's longest running multisport events. Based around the icon outdoor elements of Wellington's Hutt City this 56k scenic tour showcases the hills, beaches, harbour and river that make our Capital the outdoor wonderland that it is.
Held annually in early December, the Crazyman attracts around 400 entrants. Participants enter solo or in teams in either the full multisport format (13k Kayak, 28k Mountain Bike, 13k Trail Run) or as duathletes (mountain bike/run).
This challenging but achievable event embraces all ages, abilities and backgrounds. In short, you'd be "crazy not to" contemplate the Crazyman... It's a "Hell of an event"!

The Scottish Night of Miles is a unique event full of Christmas fun and features races over the rarely run distance of one mile.
Each year we collect donations ($5 suggested) from athletes and spectators then hand them on to a local Wellington charity. Our 2022 charity is the Wellington City Mission.
We are also grateful to our event sponsor, Lifestyle Sports, who are a long-standing supporter of Scottish Athletics and one of the premier retailers of running kit within the region.
The programme consists of a mix of children’s, senior elite and fun social events. There are several different mile races, including competitive men’s and women’s races that require pre-entry, and an all-comers mile that anyone can participate in (including Father Christmas). Note: if you are a Master’s athlete who might set a new centre record for your age grade, please enter the competitive events.
The provisional programme is outlined below. For the competitive 1-mile events for open race-walkers, and men’s and women’s running races, please enter online by 11:59pm, Wednesday, 14 December. We have set an entry fee of $5, but this will go to our charity.
Anyone wanting to compete in the Kids Chocolate Fish Dash, the All-Comers Social Mile (against Father Christmas), the Mile Relay or any of the sprints can enter those events on the day.
However, for the competitive sprints and field events, you need a competitor number to link your results to your details. If you have already registered for our senior track and field events this season, you will have a competitor number, and no further action is required. We will use that number. However, if you haven’t registered for the season, please register online. We will assign you a Competitor number, and you can get this at check-in on the day.
