Wellington Centre Road Relay Champs, Carterton Saturday, 14 September 2002

Not many teams participated today, a real shame - perfect running weather and a great course. There were 3 races: a 7km walk, a 2-lap relay for the U16 teams (3.9km, 3.1km), and a 3-lap relay for the other teams (7km each lap, or perhaps a tad less). For the championships, the first team in each grade are the relay champions - except for the senior men, where the first two teams count.

The Olympic BU16 team and BU14 team were the first two teams across the line in the U16 race. In the open race, Wellington Harriers were the first team across the line, followed by Valleys’ Masters team and the Wellington Harriers MU20 team. Wellington Harriers are the senior men champions. Olympic had three teams in this race: a senior men team (6th overall), a masters men team, and a masters men 50+ team.
