Event results
A small contingent of Olympic athletes descended on Palmerston North for the second Central League Meet. The weather was warm and breezy.
Due to COVID restrictions, the meet was split into three groups; (D) distance, (S) sprints and (J) jumps were at Palmerston North and the (T) throws in Solar Power, Lower Hutt.
The (D) group was first.
Darcy decided to compete in 3 back-to-back races: the first being the 800m, then a quick switch from spikes to road shoes and straight into the 5000m with fellow clubman Rik. Rik did most of the early pacing on his debut track run, before Darcy came through just ahead of Rik. Ten minutes later, he was lining up for the 1500m with Tommy White in the first of three heats. Michelle was satisfied with her two races, finding some speed in the 800m and 1500m.
