Pack run/walk from Clubrooms, Alex Moore, Sat 29 July, 1:45

Hope to see you all at the Club for a blast around one of our regular routes.  Good luck to all those representing Wellington at the NZ Champs in Auckland on the Sunday, and particularly those from Olympic: Jo Fowler, Esther George, Amelia Harris, Michaela Walker, Michelle Van Looy, Deb Platts-Fowler.

 

Club Champs last week

The Pony Club Boom Rock delivered a memorable course with a bit of everything that had people talking in excited tones before, during and after the races themselves.  Big ups to Rob and Trent for the course design, Dave Gratton for the time keeping, plus of course all the other helpers and marshalls.  The results are up on the website http://www.olympicharriers.nz/results/event.php?eid=1261 and the photos are well worth a look https://tinyurl.com/Champs17

 

Bays Relays and Death of Disco - 12 August 

Time to sign up for the mad fun of a dash around the South Coast to Evan's Bay -- and it's the 50th anniversary!   A bit over two weeks away so we need you to register via the web so the team captains can sort out who goes where - https://tinyurl.com/BaysSignup17   Do it NOW cos the organising is hard enough work without having to chase people.   Details of the course etc are here: https://tinyurl.com/BaysDetails17  (but don't worry about fees etc Olympic will sort that from the web regos)
As well as the race itself we will have a social event at the club in the evening.
Exact details are to be worked out, but an 80's themed pot luck dinner is the main thrust.  Start going through those bottom drawers now for your costumes.

 

Bring 'em back!

The Club Champs did what it was meant to and created a whole bunch of new champions.  Time now to dust off any trophies you won last year and take them into the Club so we can get the new recipients' names engraved in good time for the end of year prizegiving.

 

Athletic New Zealand Road Relays are coming

30th September is not as far away as you might think, and really Rotorua isn't that far to travel either.  Keep it in mind!

Sundays  8:00'ish A group of keen runners go for a longer run, usually around 5 min/km pace.

• There are a couple of active Facebook pages associated with the club.  If memory serves you need to be accepted to get access but that is not a big hassle.  A variety of semi organised runs at different levels, encouragement for summer track athletes, and celebrations of current (and some past) performances all turn up regularly.
