Winter training (March to October)
Olympic has built up a strong middle distance group of runners who run track in the summer and cross country and road in the winter. Great training for the school cross country season. Lots of fun training with others in a team environment with kids of all ages and abilities. We have training groups for everyone so don't worry if you're just starting out. Fantastic fitness training for your other summer and winter sports too.
Over the winter (terms 2 and 3) our trainings sessions are held as follows:
Tuesdays
- Nairnville Park, Khandallah – primary and intermediate age with John Cope from 4:15pm to 5:00pm.
- Alex Moore Park, Johnsonville – college age with Mark Anderson from 4:15pm to 5:00pm.
- Grenada North Park, Tawa – primary and intermediate age with Juan McDonald from 4:20pm to 5:00pm.
- Alex Moore Park, Johnsonville – Intermediate, college, adults with Chris Speakman and Rob McCrudden from 6:30pm to 7:30pm (during daylight saving) and 6:00pm to 7:00pm (after daylight saving finishes).
Thursdays
- Nairnville Park, Khandallah – primary, intermediate age with John Cope from 4.15pm to 5.00pm.
- Grenada North Park, Tawa – college age with Mark Anderson from 4:15pm to 5:00pm.
- Grenada North Park, Tawa – primary and intermediate age with Juan McDonald from 4:20pm to 5:00pm.
Saturdays at Olympic Clubrooms, Alex Moore Park, Johnsonville
- All ages meet at the clubrooms at 1:45pm on our club days (adults and children) for pack runs and fun activities for the kids. A club member or coach will be at the clubrooms to take activities for the younger juniors. It's always good to have a few parents helping out here too.
- The Saturday club days are only on when there is no race (check the calendar).

Pre-season training for summer track and field
Amanda Goldsmith runs pre-season athletics training from late June to late August for athletes aged 13 years and over. The training will be building VO2 max, muscle and speed endurance, flexibility, muscle strength, plyometrics and core. Please contact Amanda for a schedule.

Sundays
- Gym training for intermediate/college athletes at Revolve Gym in Tawa is from 11:00am to 4.30pm. There are different sessions and they have to be booked prior to attending. The gym cost is $5 per session, payable on the day. These sessions are full but contact Amanda on 021 614 064 or email amandagoldsmith877@gmail.com if you are 12+ years old as she may be able to slot you into another session.
