This multisport event starts with a 14km kayak on Lake Rotorangi followed by a 12km cross-country run and finishes off with a 45km bike ride to Hawera. Aaron and Susannah Lynch teamed up with honorary family member Aiden Nossiter from Wanganui High School. (Aiden was the winner of the U17 kayak marathon in Porirua on 17th April.) Aiden provided a flying start into the race with a kayak time of 1:34:01. Susannah ran the 12km in 51:49 which placed her 12th overall and 1st of the female runners. Aaron posted 1:28:17 for the 45k bike ride. Their total time of 3:54:07 placed them 11th overall and 1st in the secondary schools category. Almost 12 minutes clear of the 2nd secondary school's team.
