Mizuno—Shoe Clinic Twilight 5km Series, Queen's Wharf

The first event of 2003 brought a good turnout, with participants eager to get moving to combat temperatures 20 degrees colder than last week. Nick Warren didn't show the effects of any Christmas excesses by winning comfortably in 17.27. This was an improvement on his 2nd place in event 3. Karl Woolcott (17.36) and Tim Grammer (17.51) were 2nd and 3rd. Wendy Cottrell (19.02) capped off a trip south from her home in friendly Feilding by leading Michelle Allison (19.34) in the women. David Butler (36.33) was first walker.
