Saturday morning saw great conditions for race walking and two walkers from Olympic were out competing in the events at McKays crossing. Vivienne Bott opted for the judged 10km category whilst Andrea Adams took on the unjudged competition. Both ladies set off at a good pace and after the first two of the 2km laps they were on even times at 29:14. Consistency is the name of the game here and Vivienne had it on the day to finish 10th in her race with a 7:13 per km pace overall. Andrea slowed a little in lap three but held on for 6th place in the unjudged race assisted by some encouragement from John Hines from Scottish who just keeps on going and going.

(It was nice to see both of you out looking fresh and relaxed whilst supporting your running comrades at Waikanae in the afternoon.)
