Hitting the mark at AIMS games
Olympic Harriers runners had a great day at the recent national Association of Intermediate and Middle Schools ("AIMS Games") crosscountry events held in Tauranga. Eight of our young athletes, representing Raroa and Tawa Intermediate schools, competed on a soft and challenging 3 km course, in a constantly changing mix of rain, hail and bright sunshine.
Each race had very large fields, but all of our runners finished in the top half of their races. Special congratulations go to Lucy Jurke, who was 1st in Year 7 girls, and Sarah Hay, who finshed 2nd in Year 8 girls. Lucy and Sarah also counted in the Raroa Intermediate teams that finished 3rd and 1st in the year 7 and year 8 races respectively. Fantastic effort girls!
