Twilight Series - event 2, Queen's Wharf Tuesday, 26 November 2013
Updated 30 Jan 2014.

Official results Fun/mass participation event open to non-registered competitors

The weather wasn’t the greatest, with a bit of a southerly blowing and a light but persistent rain. This kept things a bit cooler than it has been lately for the 55 runners and walkers who took part and also meant that the course didn’t have the usual foot traffic on it. There were also traffic jams on the roads which meant it was touch and go as to whether the turnaround marker would get there in time. Fortunately it did.

Martin van Barneveld turned out for the first time this series and led the field home in a good time of 15:29. Following him home were Adam Carlson (16:18) and Dan Hunt (16:39). Also competing for the first time was the winner of the women’s field Rebecca Keat. She finished in a time of 18:16, beating Michelle Van Looy who ran a personal best time of 19:34. The only walker of the day was Fraser Samson who finished in a time of 30:17.

A big thank you to the team from the Olympic Harriers: Ele, Rob B, Cathryn, Tim, Graeme, Murray and Mark.

And thanks to our sponsors - in particular Lifestyle Sports for the weekly gift voucher and Chicago Sports Cafe for the free drink afterwards and bar tabs as spot prizes. Lifestyle has a very extensive range of running shoes. If you can't get to the shop in Tawa, send Manager Karen an email (rolysmith2@hotmail.com). She would be more than happy to answer your questions or source a pair of your favourite shoes.

We look forward to seeing you all back again in the coming weeks. Spread the word around your friends and workmates. Issue a few challenges and then enjoy some post race analysis over a beer.

Note sorting by time is alphabetic, not time based (so 1:00:00 comes after 0:50:00 because 1 comes after 0, but before 50:00 because 1 comes before 5).
