Jack Foster Tragically Killed 5 Jun 2004.
Jack Foster was tragically killed while riding his bike this morning in Rotorua. He was apparantly knocked of his bike by someone driving a car. He cylced regualarly to keep fit and had just finished riding with some friends and one of his sons and was on his way home.
Jack was a past multiple winner of our 20 Mile Gold Cup event when we had regular visits from the Rotorua Club to the event.
Jack was also our main Guest at the 50th Jubilee of the event and spoke at the function we held in the long room at the Basin Reserve.
His running successes are well documented including obviously his 2hr 11min Silver Medal performance at the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch at the age of 42.
