City of Wellington Half Marathon - Format Changed 31 Oct 2003.
After much deliberation the Olympic Harrier Club of Wellington Inc., has decided NOT TO HOLD the City of Wellington Full Marathon in 2004.
The Half Marathon Run and Half Marathon Walk will still take place on Sunday 18 January 2004. It is hoped to make these events bigger and better.
The decision will be reviewed following the Half Marathon early next year.
The reasons for making the decision are, (in no particular order);

We will continue to stage the Mizuno - Shoe Clinic Twilight 5km Series over the summer months.
The 5km series dates are all Tuesdays;

- Increased expectations with traffic management and safety issues.
- High manpower resource required for lengthy period.
- Small field of entries for the Full Marathon for a number of years, notwithstanding a 12.9% and 5.89% increase in overall entries respectively in the last two years.

Registration: 5.30pm
Walkers start at 5.45pm, Runners start at 6pm
Entry fee: $5 per person.
Venue: Queens Wharf Square, Queens Wharf, Wellington.
