Wellington to Host 2005 World Mountain Running Trophy 20 Sep 2003.
The bid presented to the WMRA Congress in Anchorage, Alaska this moring
NZ time, by club member Arthur Klap on behalf of the 2005 WMRT (World
Mountain Running Trophy) Local Oganising Committee, was successful to
the tune of a 19 to 6 vote against a proposal from Keswick in the Lake
District of England.
The LOC can now look forward to some very busy times in preparation for what they wish to be, the biggest and best WMRT ever staged.
There will also be an Open event for locals and supporters to take part in.
Well done to Arthur and the bid team in Alaska.
