Dana Hastie, 3rd WU18

Olympic Harriers had some great performances at the NIXC champs at Taupo today. Amongst the placegetters were Dana Hastie (3rd WU18), Lyndon McGaughran (3rd MU18), and this year’s sole Prosser placegetter, Barry Prosser, once again winning the Men 50+ grade (albeit with a tougher battle this year). Unfortunately, the pre-race favourite for the WU20 race, Jane Nalder, was unable to finish.

Finishers in the top ten of their grades included (amongst others) Matt Prosser (4th MU18), Chris Speakman (9th Men 40-49), and senior men Mike Wakelin (8th) and Hayden Prosser (10th).

The top three club placegetters in each grade counted towards the Club Cup; Olympic was fourth overall, behind Pakaranga, Wellington Harriers and Valleys United, and ahead of Papakura. Wellington was the top centre, ahead of Waikato/BOP and Auckland.
