Wellington Primary Schools Regional Cross Country Champs 28 Jun 2006.

The Regional Cross Country Champs were held today at Trentham. Top five runners from Wellington, Porirua, Kapiti, Wairarapa, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt competed in the event. Olympic club members who were all competing for the Wellington zone team finished as follows:

Abbie Dorrington, 3rd in the Year 5 girls' race (she was just pipped on the line for 2nd)
Tim Jackson, 11th in the Year 5 boys' race
Jess Kerr, 2nd in the Year 4 girls' race (close race - she had beaten the winner in the Wellington zone cross country champs so not much in it).
Gabby Evans, 8th in the Year 5 Girls' race

Beautiful day for it. Great day out for the kids. Those who made the top five in the Year 6, 7 and 8 age groups get to go to Blenheim for the Central Region Champs, but unfortunately not years 4 or 5.
