An event that will see the very best in New Zealand go head to head with pride and national titles up for grabs. The Jennian Homes New Zealand Track & Field Championships promises to be scintillating weekend of action at the Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub on Friday 06, Saturday 07 & Sunday 08 March.

The culmination of a series of world-class events being held in New Zealand this summer, the championships is the last major athletics meet in New Zealand before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, and an opportunity to gain essential points or meet the Tokyo entry standards.

See top athletes including Olympic and Paralympic stars Tom Walsh, Eliza McCartney, Holly Robinson and Dame Valerie Adams, show off their amazing speed, power, skill and endurance.

To Athletes, Officials and Coaches,

It is that time of the year when we look forward to the biggest Track and Field meet of the season.

An outline of the programme and entry standards are available on the Athletics New Zealand Website for this event. http://www.athletics.org.nz/Events/2020-Jennian-Homes-New-Zealand-Track-Field-Championships

To be eligible to compete you must be over fifteen years of age or turning 15 in 2020 and have met the entry standards. 

If you plan to attend this event and want to be part of the Wellington Centre team, please fill out your “expression of Interest” at our website: https://2020eoianzchamps.eventdesq.com/.

This EOI needs to be completed by 5 February 2020.  Note that to be in the Centre team you must be a financial member of club affiliated to Athletics Wellington.

If you are planning to compete in this event, we recommend that you make your own travel and accommodation bookings in Christchurch.  

We have Wellington singlets available and can order hoodies.  Please follow the shop link  https://athleticswellingtonshop.shopdesq.com. to order singlets/crop top. Hoodies can be ordered through the team manager.

Meet at the clubrooms at 1:15pm to carpool.

Head out towards Makara Beach. About 200m down Makara Rd past the turnoff to Makara Beach, take a left up Opau Rd, and drive to the carpark at the end of the road.

There are plenty of loops to run with great views across Cook Strait, old gun emplacements to explore, and there's of goats to run through.

Head to the cafe at Makara Beach afterwards for refreshments.
