Pack run/walk from clubrooms, Sat 19 Nov, 1:45pm

It has been a bit of a week so let's have some sort of normal to catch up with people and get back on track.  See you all at the Clubrooms for a wander around the hills and a chat afterwards.  Weather looks...well better...but then that would not be hard!

 

Crazy people make life interesting

Normal is needed sometimes, but there are more than a few members who blaze their own trail and keep us all on our toes.

• Well done Julie Klein, Jean Skilton and Ron Tineke Hooft completing the Tarawera Marathon with Barbara Jennings and Peter Hanson knocking out the 16k. 
• Catherine Wood, Adrian Jurke, Tracy Berghan competed in the Rimutuka Rail Trail on what was a very wet day
• Over the hill Martin and Rob McCrudden and Trent Corbett took on Jumbo-Holdsworth despite the weather
• In town on the track - or pool as Michelle pointed out - Michaela Walker showed the flag at the relay races.

Good on you all (and any I missed), first for setting those goals and then doing the hard yards regardless of the weather.

 

Athletics - Regional League Grand Prix this Saturday, Newtown Park

About 20 members are signed up for the Meet in town -- and if you are interested you too could join them.  You will have to move fast tho' because Jo Murray (021 976116) needs to issue you a number and get the entry in tonight (Wed 16th)   For details and the programme see : www.athleticswellington.org.nz/regionalmeets

Well recommended for all ages, and Chris gets the balance of fun, performance, and a bit of pain spot on.

There are a couple of active Facebook pages associated with the club.  If memory serves you need to be accepted to get access but that is not a big hassle.  A variety of semi organised runs at different levels, encouragement for summer track athletes, and celebrations of current (and some past) performances all turn up regularly.
